Marius, The Danish Giraffe

Apologies for my terrible absence from this blog! Life in the fast lane, never seems to slow down.
Allow me to catch up a bit...

This painting is about Marius, a young giraffe who lived in the Copenhagen Zoo. Once he was old enough to breed, the zoo decided that there was no need for another giraffe with his genes and so they shot him and fed his carcass to the zoo lions.

The incident sparked outrage across the globe. My painting is a response to that.
There is much online about this situation. One place you can start, if you are interested in more information, is to click here.

The painting is 12 inches high and 24 inches wide.
