Hello again.
I have been absent from this blog for many months. Real life, (aka, financial responsibility) has prevented me from keeping it up on a regular basis anymore. After a couple of recent job changes, although I still stay quite busy, I am now in a situation where I believe I may finally have more time to devote to this blog.
I wanted to share new about my fellow ARTsisters. There is an upcoming exhibition in the works... (Maybe you would like to come to the reception. Sunday, March 28th at 4)
We will be exhibiting some of our individual recent works as well as our collaborative mural, "Shades of Green" at Jenkins Arboretum.
The mural is a large four-panel work created by the members of ARTsisters in 2012. An experiment in collaboration, the "green" idea was sparked by a member of our group. it is an exploration of how to turn something old into something new, instead of adding to the landfill. We gathered up some of our older, unwanted pieces of art, tore up paper, cut up canvas, and reorganized the parts. Using collage methods as well as adding new elements with paint and brushes we combined it all onto four panels which together make up the "Shades of Green" mural.
Pictured above is a detail of a floral painting I am working on for the show.
"Ten Colorful Years" will be at Jenkins Arboretum in Devon PA
