Just finished today.
"El Viaje de la Mariposa" is an eighteen by eighteen inch square canvas painted with interactive acrylics. It was painted especially for the upcoming ARTsisters group show in Old City, Philly.
From June 6th thru the 29th our art will be hanging at the Old City Jewish Art Center at 119 N 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
Each participating ARTsister is painting a canvas of this same size, to accompany our large "Shades of Green" mural, which touts a green theme and was made from incorporating our recycled artwork and collaborations of many of the group's members.
The image you see here is of a Monarch Butterfly, stopping for a drink on its long journey to Mexico. Painting nature's wonders is a favorite theme of mine. I never tire of looking at nature and I hope that by my painting bits of it, I remind the viewer just how precious it is!
I invite you to stop in for a look at our "green" paintings on June 6th! From 5 till 9pm, OCJAC will be offering free refreshments in their First Friday celebration. Many of the ARTsisters will be there to share insights to their creative spirit!
