Looking for something a little different to do?
There are three art-related events this weekend!
First night for...
The Art of the Steal"
Bryn Mawr Film Institute
about the moving of the Barnes Foundation's art collection
You can read a recent article about it in March's Artmatters magazine here: http://marketplace.allaroundphilly.com/SS/Page.aspx?sstarg=&facing=false&secid=78551&pagenum=2
Trailer for the movie here
Saturday, from 1 to 3pm, I will be joining my fellow ARTsisters at the Meet the Artists reception for the latest ARTsisters Exhibit, "Diverse Horizons" at Widener University's Art Gallery Link for more info:
Come on down! I have on exhibit three mixed media pieces. Two are much larger than my regular work. (I so love working big!) You can see a photo pf one of them on the events page of my website.
Save Some Green Store Opening Party/Green Art Show Reception!
Sunday afternoon (12-5pm)
There will be a grand opening of the Save Some Green store at 2005 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, PA
A new retailer of earth-friendly products at affordable prices, it is also the location of the first "Green Art Show and Sale". Displayed on the store's walls are several original, affordable ($250 or less) works of art created by area artists. All artworks have a "green" theme in some way... displaying earth's landscape treasures, created with nontoxic paints, acid-free, archival paper, and the like.
There will be green food, green drinks, ... (I think I'll wear something green!)
Save Some Green's mission is to allow customers to buy products which are friendly to the earth, while saving money at the same time.
A percentage of all art sales will go toward keeping our earth green!
