ARTsisters First Year Anniversary Event at Wolf Block

Here's What I Was Up To Last Week ...

Leslie and Linda - Gift-giving

ARTsisters is a group of 20+ emerging women artists, of which I have been a member since March of 2006. Co-founded by Linda Dubin Garfield and Leslie deBrocky, our purpose is to venture out into the art world together, to encourage, support and share with each other in our aim to succeed in our art careers. You can read more about us when you visit:

ARTsisters- Pictured below are: Front Row: Nicole DeBrockey-Fusfield, Melissa Tevere, Leslie DeBrockey, Linda Dubin Garfield, Marjie Lewis Quint, Perky Cohen. Back Row: Wendy Pew Bankoff, Rachel Shoham, Sandi Neiman Lovitz, Jeanne Guerin-Daley, Marcia Treiger, Karen Love Cooler, Jeanna Orosz Lane, Christine Stoughton, Maria Lourdes Solomon.

Wednesday night (January 10th) we celebrated completing our first year together with an anniversary party/group exhibition on the 26th floor of Wolf Block at 1650 Arch Streets, Philadelphia, PA.
It was attended by a wonderfully diverse mix of people which kept the conversations interesting. Music by Patricia Brightful and Somethin' Different Jazz Ensemble delighted the crowd as did the unusual selections of beverages selected by Leslie DeBrocky.

Patricia Brightful and Somethin Different Jazz Ensemble:
Left to right: Jimmy Thompson on sax, Pat Brightful on bass guitar, Martin Pitcherello on drums and Phil Watson on guitar at far right.

Each ARTsister exhibited one piece of original artwork. As always, I was pleasantly amazed at the variety of styles one finds in any group of artists. We Artsisters are similar in our mission to succeed, but our work is expressed in very different ways!

My latest painting, "Proud Sycamore" was finished just barely in time for the show!

  1. Apologies! I made an error in the group picture. Standing, at far left is [ARTsister-at-the-time] Nancy Halbert, NOT Wendy.
